Choose from two designs (or both!) featured in the Society's show, "Picturing Native Americans in the 19th Century: Lithographs from McKenney & Hall's History of the Indian Tribes of North America"
click for larger imageOne design features Mo Hon Go. Also known as Sacred Sun, she was a member of the Osage (Wazhazhe) tribe that originally occupied Missouri and its adjacent states. In 1827, she was tricked into traveling to Europe as part of a “wild west” show. The Marquis de Lafayette later arranged for her return home, after which Thomas McKenney commissioned her portrait. For more information see our Famous Missourians entry on Mo Hon Go.

He was a chief among the Otoe people (spelled Ottoe by Mckenney and Hall), a tribe that lived on the Missouri river, in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Northwest Missouri. He was among the chiefs that signed the 1825 treaty at Council Bluffs, Iowa, giving the U.S government sovereignty over the Otoe.
Screen printed. 100% percent cotton. Mo Hon Go is available on a rust colored t-shirt in Large and Extra Large. Chono Ca Pe is on a sage colored shirt in Large.
