In early November 2009, one of our members made a suggestion to recover the sudden and serious withholding of 25% of the Society’s state appropriation. He suggested that if each of our members, all 4,867 of them, made a $75 pledge we would raise $365,000—just the amount needed to replenish our cut funds. We have responded to this challenge and need your help to meet the goal!
By being a member of the State Historical Society of Missouri, you have shown that preservation of the Show-Me State’s history is important to you. You may find stories of the past interesting; your family may have lived in the state since the nineteenth century; you may be an art lover who enjoys the changing exhibitions; you may be researching your family’s history—all reasons why our members join.
Perhaps you are not yet a member, but have benefited from the Society’s programs, exhibits, services, and publications. Please take this opportunity to join and add a special $75 donation to help fulfill the Society’s mission to collect, preserve, and publish the history of Missouri.
Donations can be made securely below or with this form
